QUALITY & STANDARDS

IEC 61439, Routine Verification & Documentation

POWER GRID designs, assembles, wires and tests low-voltage switchgear and control panels with focus on IEC 61439-1 / -2 / -3 requirements, defined project specifications and clear technical documentation.

QUALITY APPROACH

Engineering Quality Built Into the Process

POWER GRID is a Sharjah-based manufacturer of low-voltage electrical distribution and control panels. Our quality approach is based on defined technical requirements, controlled assembly and wiring, individual panel testing before despatch and disciplined project documentation.
For technical review, project requirements such as the SLD, panel schedule, form of separation, IP rating, fault level and other relevant specifications should be clearly defined. This helps align the panel build, verification scope and documentation with the agreed project requirements.

IEC 61439 Focus

Panels are designed and manufactured with focus on the applicable requirements of IEC 61439-1 / -2 / -3 and the agreed project specification.

Individual Panel Testing

Every panel is individually tested before despatch and supported by the relevant test and project documentation.

QUALITY CONTROL FRAMEWORK

From Requirements to Documented Handover

Quality is controlled across the full panel workflow — from technical requirement review and engineering through assembly, wiring, routine verification, documentation and release for delivery.
01

Technical Requirement Review

Project drawings, ratings and specifications are reviewed so the required panel configuration and technical scope are clearly defined.

02

IEC 61439 Requirements

Applicable IEC 61439-1 / -2 / -3 requirements are considered together with the approved project specification and panel application.

03

Engineering & Design Control

Panel design and arrangement are developed around the agreed electrical requirements, project drawings and defined technical parameters.

04

Controlled Assembly

Panel assembly is carried out against the approved configuration with attention to component arrangement, workmanship and maintainability.

05

Wiring & Identification

Internal wiring and associated identification are completed in line with the approved panel design and project documentation.

06

Inspection Before Testing

The completed assembly is inspected before routine verification and release to confirm readiness for the agreed testing process.

07

Routine Verification

Each completed panel undergoes routine verification and testing before despatch, with focus on applicable IEC 61439 and project requirements.

08

Test Certificate

A signed test certificate forms part of the technical documentation supplied with the panel at handover.

09

Traceable Project Records

Relevant records can include as-built drawings and torque records, supporting traceability from manufacture through technical handover.

10

O&M Documentation & Release

Operation and maintenance documentation is coordinated as part of the handover package before the panel is released for delivery.

DOCUMENTATION SUPPLIED

Technical Records That Support Handover

POWER GRID places strong emphasis on documentation discipline. The brief identifies complete documentation as a key differentiator, helping contractors, consultants and technical teams verify what has been built and tested.
The final documentation package is coordinated around the agreed project scope. Where applicable, the handover package includes the signed test certificate, as-built drawings, torque records and O&M manual.

Signed Test Certificate

A signed test certificate is supplied to document the panel testing carried out before despatch.

As-Built Drawings

As-built drawings provide the final documented panel arrangement and support future technical reference.

Torque Records

Torque records form part of the documentation discipline identified for panel manufacture and handover.

O&M Manual

Operation and maintenance documentation supports the client team after installation and during future maintenance activities.

FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TESTING

FAT Support Before Despatch

Where a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) is required by the project, POWER GRID can coordinate the agreed pre-despatch review and testing scope with the relevant client or consultant requirements. The applicable documentation can be prepared for technical review as part of the handover process.
FAT coordination can cover:
• Agreed pre-despatch inspection scope
• Review of relevant panel documentation
• Routine verification records
• Client / consultant review requirements
• Final documentation before release
CALIBRATION POLICY

Controlled Test & Verification Records

The client brief requires the Quality & Standards page to address calibration policy. POWER GRID should document and control the status of test instruments used for verification in accordance with its approved internal procedure and applicable project requirements. Final published wording should match the company’s formal calibration procedure and available records.

Instrument Control

Test instruments used for verification should have clearly controlled identification and calibration status under the company’s approved procedure.

Record Traceability

Relevant calibration and verification records should be maintained so the testing process can be traced when required.

Project Requirements

Any project-specific calibration or witness requirements should be agreed before testing and reflected in the applicable documentation.
